Here is another set of simple instructions you can follow to make your friend a gorgeous bangle using Cream City Ribbon.

Wrapped Friendship Bangles

Materials:

Plastic or glass bangles
Cream City Ribbon of various designs and colors
Glue dots
Scissors

Step 1.  Gather a few of your old bangles, be it plastic or glass.  Get your Cream City Ribbon of various colors and designs, and decide which ones you want to put together in one bangle.  Set aside.

Step 2.  Shred your Cream City Ribbon into strands around 2 mm each.  Begin wrapping a strand of your cotton ribbon around the bangle, keeping the end tucked under the wraps.  Add glue dots as you go to keep the ribbon secure on the bangle.

Step 3.  After about an inch, cut the end of the ribbon strand, leaving about ¼ inch.  Stick this end onto a glue dot, and begin wrapping another color, hiding the end of the previous color under.

Step 4.  Follow the same procedure until you have filled the bangle with your ribbon wraps.

Step 5.  Seal the last end of your ribbon wrap, tucking it under the other wraps to make it neat.  Repeat these same steps to make your other bangles.  Make at least 3 bangles for a prettier fashion accessory for your friend.

The great thing about making this friendship bracelet with your Cream City Ribbon is that your friend doesn’t have to be extra careful with them.  Cream City Ribbon may get wet, or may even be washed with mild soap, and the colors won’t fade or rub off other fabrics. With Cream City Ribbon, you can explore your possibilities.

Cream City Ribbon is ideal for making friendship bracelets for your friends or children.  Show your friends that they are special.  Give them a small token of appreciation with your hand made crafts, using your own design based on how much they mean to you, or how you know them.  All you need is a few yards of your Cream City Ribbon, a couple hours of your time, and voila!  You’ve made your friend a bracelet to show that their presence in your life is something you treasure.

Spiral Bracelets

Materials:

Cream City Ribbon of various designs and colors
Scissors
Large beads that can fit through all the strands (optional)

Step 1. Gather three strands of ribbons, each of a different color.

Step 2. Shred your Cream City Ribbon into strands around 3 mm each.  This will give you a total of 12 strands.

Step 3. Twine the length of your Cream City Ribbon to give it more texture.

Step 4. Tie a knot on one end, leaving about 1 ½ to 2 inches.

Step 5. Start the body of your Cream City Ribbon spiral bracelet.

Hold the strands on one hand, and with your dominant hand, take one strand of your Cream City Ribbon as your working strand.  Lay it over the group of ribbons you are holding (holding ribbon), and pass it under the holding ribbon, then through the loop that was made.  Pull your working ribbon snugly.  Do this repeatedly until you have made about an inch or so.

Step 6. String your bead through.  If you decide to make the bracelet without beads, skip this step.

Step 7. Now that all your ribbons are in one group, get another ribbon (of a different color), and use this as your working strand.  Repeat step 5 and 6 while alternating or switching colors.  Make sure that your knots are snug and neat.

Step 8. When you have attained your desired length, tie your ribbons with a clean knot, and snip off.  Leave around 1 ½ to 2 inches, to be able to tie it around your friend’s wrist.

The great thing about making this friendship bracelet with your Cream City Ribbon is that your friend doesn’t have to be extra careful with them.  Cream City Ribbon may get wet, or may even be washed with mild soap, and the colors won’t fade or rub off other fabrics. Cream City Ribbon Wall Art

Cream City Ribbon Wall Art

A blank wall is never a fun thing to look at.  Framed pictures or paintings may be expensive, and it’s always such a joy to show off your own works of art to visitors and guests.  If you are renovating your home, remodeling a room for a nursery, or simply thinking of innovative ways to decorate, Cream City Ribbon brings you a new project that you can accomplish with your friends, family members, or children.  You may also use this technique for your scrapbook.

Mounted Cream City Ribbon Wall Art

Materials:

Cream City Ribbon of various colors and designs
Cream City Ribbon scraps
Watercolor
Paint brush for the watercolor
Brush for the glue (you may use an old eye make-up or lip brush, small enough to make lines)
2 pieces, 1/8 illustration board
Glue
Double-sided Tape
Scissors
Glitters (optional)
1. Prepare Your Mount.

Step 1. Choose a design or image outline.  You may get a page from your child’s favorite coloring book, or print out an outline of an image.  You may pick a cartoon character that your child loves, or choose an image that suits your home design or theme.  The heavier the GSM of your paper, the better.

Step 2. Once you have this ready, you may now prepare your mount, so that later on, all you have to do is frame your Cream City Ribbon artwork.  Your mount will be 4 inches larger than the paper on which your image is printed on.

Measure your illustration board.  Add 4 inches to each side of your image paper.  Cut your board accordingly.

Step 3. Once you have cut this board, you now need to attach a string so you can hang it on your wall later.  On the top 1/3 of your board, make two sets of parallel holes.  Then tie your hanging string or Cream City Ribbon through these holes.

Note that the Cream City Ribbon is very strong and can hold up this mounted artwork.

Step 4. Prepare your mount frame.  Cut your second piece of illustration board, to work as a frame that you can place on top of your artwork, once it is mounted on the first illustration board.  Cut your frame, using a width of 4 ½ to 5 inches each.

2. Color your Image with Cream City Ribbon.

Remember that with your Cream City Ribbon, there are a lot of possibilities.  You can shred it, cut it, quill it, tie it, curl it, shape it, and so forth.  Don’t be afraid to try out new things!

Step 1. Work on your artwork.  Paint your image outline with watercolor.  Be as creative as you can, this will serve as the base of your artwork, and the basis of your ribbon use.

Step 2. Once you are finished painting your image, you can work on your outline.

Make an embossed outline of your image.  Twine a long strand of your Cream City Ribbon, and glue it onto the image outline.  This way, coloring into the image will be easier, as it also serves as a border.

Step 3. Fill up the various areas with color and texture.  Cut your Cream City Ribbon into very small pieces of different shapes.  Using your paintbrush, spread glue into the area that you want to fill.  Sprinkle and spread your Cream City Ribbon pieces into the area.

Step 4. Variation of texture, shape, style and technique is fundamental to making a unique and beautiful artwork. For another area, use a different technique.  You can wet your Cream City Ribbon scraps by putting it under running water or spraying them with water.  This way, your Cream City Ribbon, made with natural cotton, will shape into whatever you want.

Now that your Cream City Ribbon is more pliant, you will be able to separate the strands of cotton yarn that it was made into. Use this cotton ribbon, and glue it onto one area using the same principle used in the previous step.

Step 5. Another technique is to quill your Cream City Ribbon into the shape of the area you want to fill.  Once you have done this, glue it onto the paper by spreading the glue (using the brush) on one side, and pasting it onto the paper.

Step 6. Shred your Cream City Ribbon into very thin pieces, and cut them into 1, 2, or 3 inch pieces.  Spread glue on the area you want to work on, and scatter your Cream City Ribbon shredded stems on this area.  This should look like scattered hay, or grass.

Step 7. Make plenty of knots on a length of your Cream City Ribbon.  Place a distance of about half an inch between these knots, and cut at the center.  You now have plenty of little knots to fill up an area.  Glue onto paper.  You can use little glue dots for this to make it neat.  If you want a quicker technique, you can brush the area with glue, and just scatter the little knots onto it.

Step 8. Put curly frills on an area.  The length depends on how long you want the curls or frills to be.  This step is best used if your image is that of a person or character with hair.  Take a piece of your Cream City Ribbon, and glue one end (about just 3 mm) to your paper.  Shred the ribbon up until the glued portion.

Ask someone else to hold down the glued portion of the ribbon while you curl each strand.  You may do this several times, until you fill up the whole area or head portion.

Step 9. Cut your Cream City Ribbon according to the length or width of the area you want to fill and lay them down flat.  You may glue them onto the paper vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.  It’s really up to what you think is best for your design.  You may put glitter on top of these laid down ribbons to add texture and shimmer.

Step 10. Make variations of the various techniques discussed here to continue filling out the various areas of your image.

Be bold.  You may use Cream City Ribbon that is contrasting to the watercolor you used for the area.  Keep in mind that with Cream City Ribbon, you can do as you please.  Make waves, make loops, make quills – whatever you like.

Step 11. LET YOUR ARTWORK DRY FOR AT LEAST 12 HOURS, OR FOR BEST RESULTS, LEAVE IT TO DRY OVERNIGHT.

3. Mount It, Frame It, Hang It.

Once your image artwork is completely dry, you may now mount it on the boards that you previously made.

Put double sided tape at the back corners of your page, and place it at the center of your illustration board.  Tape the frame on top of the paper, making sure to cover the edges with the frame.

If you want it to be more secure, you may place acetate or a transparency film over your artwork.  This protects it from dirt and direct sunlight.  In doing this, you also prevent the artwork from getting destroyed by curious hands.

Cream City Ribbon encourages recycling and using materials that are environment friendly.  Recycling is a great help to the environment, and is easy on the pocket.  Make projects that are eco-friendly and wallet-friendly.  Don’t throw away your Cream City Ribbon scraps.  Use it for other craft projects.

Now, you can hang your piece, and let others marvel at how your Cream City Ribbon Wall Artwork was made.

Be proud of your own creation.

Be proud of how creative you are.

Be proud of how you helped the environment by using natural ribbons.

Choosing the Right Printer Ribbons for Your Id Printer

Plastic card printers have changed the way business takes care of their ID card needs. Today, many businesses (big and small) opt to print their cards in-house, because there are so many ID printer options on the market. Just as it’s important to choose the right printer, it’s just as important to choose the right printer ribbons for your ID printer.

The ribbon in your printer will wear out at some point. How long will depend a great deal on how much printing you do, the type of ribbon, and the quality of the ribbon. You should know a bit about the various plastic card printer ribbons that are available, so that you find the one that’s designed for your ID printer. There may even be more than one ribbon for your printer.

The type of printer ribbon you need, will depend on the printer you have. Each manufacture of ID printers also makes their own line of printer ribbons for that machine. It’s best to use a ribbon that is designed and recommended for your printer, to ensure the highest quality printing.

There are a variety of different plastic card printer ribbons available on the market. It will help if you understand a little bit about these ribbons. That will make it easier for you to choose the ribbon that’s right for your company’s situation.

Some of the ID card printer ribbons have a holographic overlay added for security. This 3-D image is impossible to duplicate, and it doesn’t require any special device in order to be viewed.

It cannot be stressed enough, just how important it is for you to choose the correct ribbon for your ID printer. If you buy an incorrect ribbon it could make your ID cards very difficult, if not impossible, to read. Since your ID cards are a critical part of your business you want to ensure that the print quality meets or exceeds your expectations. Using only ribbons recommended by the manufacturer will ensure just that.

Worse then poor print quality is the damage to your printer that can occur if you use a ribbon not recommended by the manufacturer. Your warranty could also become void. Those few pennies saved on an after market ribbon, won’t seem like much of a savings if you damage your printer. Sometimes it’s not about savings. It makes a lot more sense to buy the correct ribbon right away.

If you’re thinking, what’s the big deal, how hard can it be? You might be surprised to learn that it might not be quite as simple as you anticipated. It might be one of the smallest parts of your printer, but it’s definitely one of the most important. It needs to be the right type for your ID printer to work properly.

Datacard printer ribbons are available in both monochrome and color. They range in price for as little as .00 to the more expensive Datacard Tonal Black Photo Ribbon for non SP Series 860 printers. Your Datacard printer will tell you which ribbon you need to use. Datacard produces color ribbons, monochrome ribbons, holograms, overlay film, the Magna series of ribbons, the SP75 series of ribbons, the RP90 ribbons, and several others.

Evolis ribbons range from as little as .00 to the more expensive Evolis YMCKO color 5 panel ribbon for the Quantum printers. Your Evolis printer will tell you which ribbon you should use. Evolis produces color ribbons, monochrome ribbons, holograms, tattoo ribbons, Securion ribbons, Quantum ribbons, the Dualys series or ribbons, and the Pebble Series of ribbons, as well as several others.

Polaroid printer ribbons include color ribbons, monochrome ribbons, the Legacy series; as well as the P110i, P3000, P4000, and P75i ribbons. Your Polaroid ID printer will tell you which printer ribbon you should use.

Fargo is a popular ID printer choice, and they have a large number of ID printer ribbons on the market, starting as low as . There are far too many choices to list. Margicard and Zebra also have a very large number of printer ribbons. Prices vary according to the ribbon you need to purchase.

It all begins with choosing the right ID printer for your company. After that, it really is quite easy. Simply purchase the ribbons the manufacture recommends for your printer. By doing so you’ll ensure your warranty remains valid, and you’ll also ensure you get top notch, professional printing of your ID cards.

Check out ID Superstore for low prices on printer ribbons including Zebra printer ribbon and Datacard printer ribbon.
