Safety in the world of playground equipment
Each of us carries childhood playground memories close to his/her heart for as long as we live. Playground equipment plays no lesser part in our childhood. We all know that children develop a large part of their social skills on the playground.
Playground equipment should be of good quality, durable and must be able to ensure safety. After all we do live to see a smile on the face of our little ones.
Proper playground equipment, sets and structures are the places where children have fun, learn, interact and develop.
Playground equipment usually consists of swings, slides, merry-go-round, see-saws and monkey bars and so on. They help children develop physical coordination, strength and flexibility, while at the same time they provide recreation.
Today the Playground equipment has changed considerably in order to incorporate safety features. For instance, the earlier play equipment was constructed from steel bars and other metal, which were not very conducive to children’s safety and cases of children getting seriously hurt in a fall were quite common.
However modern day playground equipment has replaced steels and other metals with other materials like rubber and plastic as much as possible and in the process they have set much better chances for children’s safety.
